Chunichi was scheduled to play the Hiroshima Carp on Tuesday evening before this season's 14th typhoon, which dumped heavy rain on various parts of Japan, forced Dragons officials to cancel the Central League fixture on Monday night.
Rain water, which had swept in from the streets surrounding the stadium, flooded the dugouts and turned the mound and other parts of the field into a mud bath.
Chunichi officials will wait until Tuesday evening to decide whether the field will be in a playable condition for the game on Wednesday.
