Chunichi lefty Masahiro Yamamoto tossed a six-hit shutout against the Carp on Wednesday, leading the Central League's second-place Dragons to a 4-0 victory at Hiroshima Stadium.
The 17-year pro struck out eight, walked none and did not let a runner past second in notching his ninth win and second shutout of the season.
Takeshi Yamasaki, Hiroshi Taneda and Leo Gomez all hit solo homers off Hiroshima starter Nathan Minchey (10-9), who allowed all four runs over 6 1/3 innings.
