Daiei catcher Kenji Jojima sparked a five-run outburst in the second inning as the Hawks beat the Lotte Marines 6-4 at the Fukuoka Dome on Saturday and climbed back in to first place in the Pacific League standings, one game ahead of the Seibu Lions.
Tied 0-0 in the second with two outs, Koji Akiyama scored the first run of the game on Jojima's single to right.
Hiroshi Yugamidani, Yusuke Torigoe, Hiroshi Shibahara and Melvin Nieves then followed with four straight RBI singles as Daiei took an early lead.
