Keizaburo Tanoue pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings and three relievers held Nippon Ham scoreless the rest of the game on Saturday as the Pacific League-leading Daiei Hawks shut out the Fighters 2-0 at Fukushima Stadium for their fifth straight win.
Tanoue scattered four hits and struck out six for his fifth win. Rodney Pedraza pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 24th save.
Daiei scored both its runs in the fifth inning on solo homers by Hiroki Kokubo and Kenji Jojima off Fighters hurler Tsutomu Iwamoto (4-8).
