Japan striker Shoji Jo is still looking for a club for this season, a Yokohama F. Marinos official said Thursday.
Last season, Jo was on loan to Spanish first division club Valladolid and hoped to move to the Spanish club on a permanent basis, but despite negotiations with Valladolid this has failed to materialize.
Yokohama general manager Katsunori Nakamura said Valladolid is among the clubs the Marinos are talking to via a Spanish agent, but nothing has been finalized yet.
Yokohama is hoping to have Jo settled in time for the start of the Spanish season on Sept. 10.

Japan midfielder Hiroshi Nanami, who played for Italian club Venezia last season, is to receive a callup for Japan's friendly against the United Arab Emirates slated for Aug. 16 in Hiroshima, Japan Football Association technical committee chief Kuniya Daini said Thursday.
Nanami, who is still looking for a new club for next season, has been training in Japan. The squad for the friendly game is expected to be announced on Aug. 3.
