Yomiuri Giants infielder Kazuhiro Kiyohara homered and singled in a pair of runs Wednesday as the Central League swept this year's three-game pro baseball All-Star Series with a 9-3 romp over the Pacific League.

Kiyohara, a late addition to the CL roster after spending most of the season with the Yomiuri farm team, homered in the second inning off Lotte Marines starter Shingo Ono for a 1-0 lead at Big N Stadium in Nagasaki.

The 32-year-old veteran also sparked a five-run outburst in the seventh inning with a bases-loaded single to right for two more runs which earned Kiyohara the nod as the game's MVP.

Kiyohara, who missed being elected to the All-Star games by Japanese baseball fans for the first time in 15 years, was picked by Chunichi Dragons manager Senichi Hoshino to replace injured Yomiuri teammate Akira Eto on the CL roster.
