Designated-hitter Nigel Wilson went 3-for-5 with three solo homers as the surging Nippon Ham Fighters cruised to a 14-5 victory over the Lotte Marines at the Tokyo Dome on Thursday.
Wilson hit a solo clout in the fifth inning and went deep again in the seventh before rounding out his attack with another roundtripper in the eighth.
Fighters starter Naoyuki Tateishi (4-0) picked up the win despite giving up five runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings as Nippon Ham won its fourth straight and moved into second place in the PL standings, half a game behind the Lions.
