Domingo Martinez belted a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning Tuesday as the Yomiuri Giants rallied for five runs en route to a 7-4 victory over the Yokohama BayStars at the Tokyo Dome.
Pitcher Kimiyasu Kudo tied the game at 2-2 with a sacrifice fly to left and Martinez gave the Giants a 6-2 lead with his 12th homer of the season before Hideki Matsui added a solo homer in the seventh inning.
Kudo (7-3) picked up the win after giving up three runs on six hits over five-plus innings and Hiromi Makihara retired the side in the ninth for his eighth save of the season.
