Pinch hitter Junichi Jinno doubled home a pair of runs and the Chunichi Dragons scored five times in the bottom of the fourth inning Sunday on their way to a 7-6 victory over the Hiroshima Carp at the Nagoya Dome.

The victory gave the defending Central League champion Dragons a one-game lead in the standings over the Carp, who entered the game tied for the top spot with Chunichi.

Chunichi lefty Shigeki Noguchi (4-5) came on in the fifth to pick up the win, holding Hiroshima to two runs on four hits over four innings. Closer Eddie Gaillard surrendered a two-run homer to Kojiro Machida in the ninth, but held on for his 11th save.
