Pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka bounced back from a subpar performance in his last start with a solid outing Saturday, tossing a two-hitter as the Seibu Lions blanked the Lotte Marines 3-0.

Matsuzaka (4-1), who gave up six runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings in last Sunday's loss to the Orix BlueWave, fanned six at Akita Stadium for his first shutout victory of the season.

Tony Fernandez went 4-for-4 at the plate, including a solo home run in the sixth inning off Lotte starter Chris Roberts, as the Lions handed the Marines their third straight loss.
