IWATA, Shizuoka Pref. -- Dmitry Radchenko's first-half goal gave Jubilo a 1-0 win over Vissel Kobe at Jubilo Iwata Stadium on Wednesday night and helped Iwata move into third place in the J. League Division One table.
Jubilo midfielder Norihiro Nishi, who replaced the injured Nobuo Kawaguchi early in the game, drove up the field and played a neat one-two with forward Masashi Nakayama before passing the ball to Radchenko. The Russian forward chipped in the game's sole goal over Vissel 'keeper Jiro Takeda in the 37th minute, finding the net for his third game in a row. Kobe was temporarily missing defender Keiji Kaimoto at the time for injury treatment.
Kobe brought in veteran strikers Hisashi Kurosaki and Akihiro Nagashima, as well as South Korea midfielder Ha Seok Ju, for a second-half rally attempt. But injury-hampered Jubilo kept its sheet clean for the first time since March 25 in its first win at home since April 8.
