The Yokohama F. Marinos maintained their one-point lead at the top of the J. League's First Division on Wednesday after coming from a goal down to demolish struggling Kawasaki Frontale 4-1.

The Marinos hit back seconds after going down to an eighth-minute Pedrinho goal at International Stadium Yokohama as Brazilian striker Edmilson finished smartly at the near post following good work from Japan midfielder Atsuhiro Miura.

Edmilson netted his second in the 24th minute and added second-half goals from Daisuke Tonoike and Kunio Nagayama.

Yokohama moved onto 27 points from 13 games, one point ahead of Cerezo Osaka, a 4-2 winner at home to Avispa Fukuoka.

FC Tokyo wins 3-1

ICHIHARA, Chiba Pref. -- Masamitsu Kobayashi scored a tie-breaking goal as FC Tokyo downed JEF United Ichihara 3-1 in J. League Division One action Wednesday night at Ichihara Seaside Stadium.

FC Tokyo moved up to third place but its first-stage title chances are alive only mathematically with two more matches remaining in the stage.
