Toshihisa Nishi and Akira Eto homered, and Kimiyasu Kudo pitched seven strong innings Tuesday to power the Yomiuri Giants to a 5-1 victory over the Hiroshima Carp.
Yomiuri went ahead with Nishi's seventh homer of the season off Nate Minchey (3-3) in a three-run third inning, which also featured RBI singles by Domingo Martinez and Yoshinobu Takahashi at the Tokyo Dome.
A seventh-inning homer by Akira Eto and Hideki Matsui's RBI single in the eighth also helped Kudo get his fourth win after he held Hiroshima to one run and five hits with seven strikeouts.
