In Tendo, Yamagata Prefecture, eighth-placed Montedio survived Urawa's 28-shot attack and won the game on striker Mashimo Satoshi's last-minute goal.

Elsewhere, Sagan Tosu was held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-dwelling Ventforet Kofu at home, while Vegalta Sendai fought to a 0-0 draw against fifth-placed Hollyhock in Mito.
