Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has apparently ruled himself out of the running for the job of Japan national coach until his contract with the Premier League club expires in 2002, the Guardian said Tuesday.

"I really enjoyed my two years there (in Japan) as a club manager and I have already had offers to take over the national team, but I'm not ready yet," the British daily quoted Wenger as saying.

"At the moment my way is clear: I'm here until 2002 and that's it."

The article followed a Japanese newspaper report suggesting last week that the Japan Football Association will not renew the contract of Philippe Troussier.
