The Hanshin Tigers' unbeaten streak ended at 10 games Friday after losing to the Central League champion Chunichi Dragons 4-3 at the Nagoya Dome.
In the bottom of the ninth with one out, Lee Jeong Bum singled to shallow center field to drive in the tie-breaking run, scoring Takayuki Onishi from second base. Onishi bunted and made it all the way to second thanks to Hanshin first baseman Yasuaki Taiho's wild throw.
Hanshin, which took a 3-1 lead after Shinjo hit a two-run homer off Melvin Bunch in the sixth inning, gave up the CL lead to Hiroshima with the loss.Carp 8, Yokohama 3 Shinji Sasaoka gave up eight hits and three runs over the distance but improved his record to 5-0 thanks to his teammates' batting as Hiroshima downed Yokohama at Yokohama Stadium.
