The five-time Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys make their second appearance in Japan when they take on the Atlanta Falcons on Aug. 6 at the Tokyo Dome in NFL Tokyo 2000, a National Football League international preseason game which was formerly known as the American Bowl.
The Cowboys have played seven international preseason games and have an 0-6-1 record. They lost to the Houston Oilers 34-23 here in the 1992 American Bowl, but then went 13-3 in the regular season en route to winning Super Bowl XXVIII.
Last season, the Cowboys had an 8-8 record and exited the playoffs in the first round for the second straight season. The disappointing performance cost Chan Gailey his job as head coach, which defensive coordinator Dave Campo then took over.
