Domingo Martinez smacked a three-run clout and the Yomiuri Giants held on for a 6-4 victory over the Yokohama BayStars to move atop the standings in the Central League on Sunday.
Martinez got the Giants on the board early at the Tokyo Dome with a looping bases-loaded single with two out in the first inning that scored two and then came back for a three-run homer in the sixth as the Giants won for the ninth time out of their last 11 games.
Rookie starter Hisanori Takahashi (2-0) was perfect over the first three innings.
