Carp hurler Hiroki Kuroda allowed two runs over nine innings on the hill and his teammates backed him with 12 hits as Hiroshima whipped the CL defending champion Chunichi Dragons 13-2 on Tuesday at the Nagoya Dome.
Kuroda allowed nine hits, including a solo homer to Kosuke Fukudome in the first inning, and walked two for his first win of the season.
Carp catcher Shuji Nishiyama had four RBIs and left fielder Tomoaki Kanemoto was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
