KASHIWA, Chiba Pref. -- Kashiwa's substitute forward Park Kun Ha struck the winning goal less than two minutes from the end of extra time to give Reysol a 2-1 victory over Kyoto Purple Sanga on Saturday night at Kashiwa's Hitachi Soccer Stadium.
By needing extra time to win, Kashiwa missed a golden opportunity to take the league lead for the first time in three years, but last year's Nabisco Cup champion improved its placing from third to second. Jubilo Iwata took the lead thanks to its superior number of goals. Jubilo rallied past Avispa Fukuoka 2-1 at home earlier in the day.
Kyoto, though dwelling one spot from the bottom of the table, played well to take control of the game in the first half, winning the ball with good pressure while showing good composure.
