Real grumpiness over fake smiles

I don't think I'm the only reader to notice the irony in Megumi Shimazoe's Jan. 23 letter, " Service with a smile sets us apart." It is not exactly honesty and sincerity that overcome visitors when they get the fake "ordered" smiles from behind the counter.

Regarding "The decline and fall of Japan and its sex drive": Many Western countries would be in a similar position if not for immigration. It may be time to face the fact that there are few, if any, major genetic differences among Japanese, Korean and Chinese populations.
