As a Japanese who was educated after the war, I quite agree with the "Japan abusing UNESCO" editorial by The Korea Times in the April 7 Global Perspectives column.

I hope that the Japanese politicians understand why Koreans and Chinese are angry about Japan. They are more angry about Japan who treated them as inferior people rather than Japan's Imperialism.

Japan, Korea and China share Buddhism and Confucianism as a cultural background, and vertical relations in Confucianism still work more in Korea than in Japan. They still believe that China and Korea are "teachers" and Japan is their "student."

I think that Japanese politicians should try to understand the "ruled" people and reach reconciliation as soon as possible.

We want to have future-oriented relations between us (China, Korea and Japan). This order is very important in East Asia.

The prime minister must apologize for what Japan did 70 years ago to our neighboring countries!
