It should be the most wonderful time of the year, even in Nanjing, China. But according to a report in last Monday's Chinese edition of the state-owned China Daily newspaper, something is seriously amiss:
"In previous years we would be going into 'Christmas mode' this month. But in the last few days, some of Nanjing's five-star hotels haven't bothered to put up Christmas trees, lights, bells, white-bearded Santas. Thus we hardly feel the Christmas spirit."
Who is the Grinch responsible for this diminishment in Chinese holiday cheer?
