Regarding Frank Ching's Oct. 21 article, "Taiwan opposition leery of China trade accord": This is sheer propaganda. Ching doesn't seem to have the foggiest idea of the negative impact that the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) has had, and will have, on Taiwan's sovereignty. Data to date substantiate an overall loss of Taiwanese jobs plus other economic impacts.
There are just too many pro-China pundits spewing concoctions that knowledgeable people take with a grain of salt. The services trade agreement will be the last nail in the coffin of Taiwan sovereignty. There is a need for more impartial, accurate commentaries from opponents of the trade agreement and the ECFA. Do Hong Kongers enjoy infiltration by the Mainlanders?
