Allow me to express my weariness with Drusilla de Lanor, who in her June 13 letter, "No offense taken to 'that guy,'" called my view bigoted. A careful reading of my June 9 letter, "An offensive religious reference," will show that I do not claim to be a Christian.
Nor do I say that Amy Chavez's flippancy in her June 1 column, "Everyone's own path to enlightenment," will harm anyone's faith. What I said was that demeaning a religious symbol will hurt the people for whom that symbol is important. It is bad manners actually.
