Regarding Kevin Casas-Zamora's Sept. 5 opinion article, "Enemies of mosque tread a dangerous road": Why is it that the West comes under fire for intolerance while Muslim countries literally get away with murder?
Recently a radio announcer offhandedly mentioned that if Canadians wanted to donate to help flood victims in Pakistan, they, of course, could not go through the Red Cross. Why? Because the symbolic Christian cross offends Muslims.
So, while Muslims refuse to accept assistance that may be labeled with a mere symbol, the United States is chastised for not welcoming the building of a mosque/cultural center at the site of the worst terrorist atrocity in modern times, which was committed by Muslim extremists? I'm confused. Are churches being built in Saudi Arabia? Nope. Are Christians permitted to preach in Saudi Arabia? Nope. Is this a double standard? Yup.
