Regarding Bob Sliwa's Oct. 19 article, "Subaru continues to drive to a different beat": Good article. I have three 1986 Brats (models); one has been driven 300,000 miles and the least driven has 85,000 miles. I live in Montana and never get stuck in winter. My Brats are dependable and start immediately.
Subaru could bring back the Brat, beef it up and sell it forever in Montana! People are always stopping me to ask, "Where did you pick up that vehicle?" Thirty-three miles per gallon (14 kilometers per liter) is not bad and the two-speed, four-wheel drive is very appropriate for our mountains. I even have a generator with a Subaru motor.
I visit Japan regularly with youth wrestling teams, usually to the Izu Peninsula. Give Subaru my regards.
