The Oct. 22 article "Melamine-tainted dough spurs Saizeriya to give pizza refunds" stated that the restaurant chain served thousands of pizzas during the eight-day period (Sept. 25 to Oct. 2) for which pizza dough made in China may have been contaminated with "very small amounts" of the industrial chemical melamine. The refunds worth, say, ¥399 or more being offered to customers who purchased pizzas during this period (at any of the chain's 542 outlets in eastern Japan) will surely come in handy if anyone develops kidney stones or renal failure from ingesting the toxin. Organic food, anyone?
