Regarding the Oct. 7 article, "Overseas hibakusha file suit over benefits": I lived in Japan from 1977 to 2001, first in Tokyo then in Nishinomiya. As a retired professor of the Kwansei Gakuin University law department, I've been very concerned about issues related to the hibakusha (atomic bomb victims).
Since I'm of Korean heritage, I've been particularly concerned about those of Korean descent. I am very supportive of those hibakusha who live overseas. I believe they should receive benefits like those living in Japan. I would support a request to the U.S. government for its participation in contributing to a fund that would benefit those living overseas.
