Companies screwing around with food such as meat, rice etc. seem to know that the high prices on those items make for easy cheating. The government allows for tough import restrictions to protect farmers and to line the pockets of politicians who go along with the restrictions and tariffs.
Consumers have their backs against the wall and cannot do anything but pay while unscrupulous company presidents laugh all the way to the bank. Maybe if the Justice Ministry threw the book at some of them and put them away for a while instead of merely letting consumers look at the top of executives' heads bowing and saying "sorry" and getting suspended three-year sentences, things might be better for all of us.
