This summer we have endured a lot of rain, humid weather and weird cloud formations. This may not be unusual for Japan in August, but I asked locals if the weather was unusual and many said "yes." Using the Internet, I was able to learn that the U.S. government has an official policy of "weather modification" for preventing climate change. Many people have noted that "chem trails" are a common occurrence over U.S. skies. But even if you don't believe the conspiracy stuff, there is no doubt that air pollution caused by increasing air traffic does affect weather, as NASA has documented.

I read a news report that in China numerous government installations were using silver iodide and other chemicals to ensure clear skies over Beijing for the Olympics. We know that the Chinese faked a few things to impress the world; why not fake the weather?

But the deeper point is that the weather these days may not be natural. This is a scientific question that needs to be examined. With all the talk of "global warming," we should watch out for people seeking to blame average people for CO2 emissions when global governments are possibly involved in risky methods to manipulate the weather all the while.
