I am a North American who now lives in Costa Rica. This month I traveled to Japan to visit my son, his wife and my new grandchild. My flight was long and I was tired when I arrived at Narita International Airport on Aug. 12.
Somehow, when changing planes, I mislaid my wallet in the airport terminal. The staff at Northwest Airlines was very helpful and made numerous phone calls on my behalf to lost and found, security and customs. Before my connecting flight departed, security called to say someone had turned in the wallet. I continued on my trip with all my money, credit cards and driver's licenses (for two countries) intact. I thanked them profusely for all that they did to help.
But it is the person who found my wallet and turned it over to security I have yet to thank personally. Nowadays it is all too uncommon to find that kind of honesty and I want to send out my deepest thanks and appreciation to whoever that person is. Karma is a real thing, and he or she will be blessed in another life. Keep safe, my friend, and thank you.
