Our attention has been drawn to the May 17 Reuters article "Bangladesh group linked to blasts (in western India)." This report has no remote connection to reality. Bangladesh neither tolerates nor harbors any anti-Indian elements in the country.
It has become a habit of a section of Indian media to jump to imaginary conclusions on such sensitive issues. Bangladesh is always willing to address these issues with all seriousness, provided there is evidence beyond doubt of involvement of any Bangladeshi. In Dhaka, Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, adviser for foreign affairs, has emphasized that no one should automatically point the finger at Bangladesh before thorough investigations are concluded.
