In response to the article "If there is a god, then why is there suffering?," I would say not only does God exist but also that he is all-good, all-powerful and all-knowing.

The fact that there is suffering in this world by all beings does not change that fact. I fall under the belief that God created this universe and the natural laws to govern it, gave humanity free will, and let his creation run itself. If God truly is all-good, all-powerful and all-knowing, then he would definitely know things that we do not. What may seem cruel to us may just very well be indicative of not only our lack of knowledge but inability to understand.

While I do understand the problem the author of this article is having, because it is something that all Christians must deal with at one time or another, I do not see this as a problem. What would be the point of God's going through all the trouble of creating a universe and giving it laws and us free will, and then interfering in every little and big problem!?

If you look at disasters, suffering and death, you will notice that such happenings bring people together. Suffering is a bond that all humans share and is one that has the potential to unite us all. Also, when humans fall, we have the ability and potential to rise higher than we could have before.

Suffering creates need, and need leads to human innovation, and human innovations lead to a better life. If there are reasons behind the suffering of mankind, then I submit that these two reasons are it.
