The March 27 article "When natural beauty just isn't cutting it" mentions that beautiful women are not only determined by their appearance, but also their confidence, intelligence and attitude.
I am delighted to know the true definition of beauty. I believe that Miss Universe Riyo Mori is an incredible model for women, especially for teenagers. Other than her lips, which are now back to normal, she is all natural.
This naturalness emphasizes her self-assurance toward herself because she is content with her body. Many beauty pageant participants have gotten surgical enhancements like breast augmentation, eyelid surgery and nose jobs, but Mori never considered getting such serious plastic surgery. Also, she is scandal-free, and her ability to understand her duties as Miss Universe, in my opinion, makes her a perfect role model.
Because the media continuously influence our lives, I believe that advertisements need to include women who offer appropriate examples instead of celebrities who are always involved in scandals. Furthermore, it is indispensable for humans to understand the definition of true beauty. The media therefore should give more coverage to people like Mori so they can serve as role models for younger generations. Doing so would also help change many women's attitudes toward themselves since it will give them positive thoughts about their bodies.
