I was reminded of these words from English poet John Donne (1571-1631) when I read the recent debates in Britain about the Lisbon Treaty, which provided for changes in the way that the European Union is run.
The majority of British newspapers pander to the "little Englander mentality" of sections of the public. Sadly many people in Britain remain ambivalent toward British membership in the EU.
