Regarding Kevin Rafferty's Feb. 11 article, "Wise man from Japan now the black pope" (about the new head of the Society of Jesus): Rafferty omitted the most important point. After his many years in Japan, Father Adolfo Nicolas must know that Japan's most important message to the world is that the tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki must never occur again.
