I watched the figure skating competition on TV recently, and it was very exciting. I was impressed by the earnestness of the skaters. But one thing came to mind while watching: Japanese people are unpatriotic. Such an exhibition is a showcase for skaters free to use gadgets and wear costumes, anything they like.
So skaters have an opportunity to show the appeal of their own country on this occasion. However, Japanese skaters never do so. Why don't they convey a Japanese atmosphere? They should try to show the appeal of Japan.
For example, skaters should wear Japanese clothes or skate to Japanese music such as "Sakura" or something. It is necessary for us to convey the qualities of Japan. Above all else, representatives of Japan should show patriotism. I think that would help promote all Japanese people's patriotism.
