After the collapse of the English-teaching company Nova at the end of October, my wife and I wanted to do something to help ex-Nova teachers and students. I was a Nova teacher myself until early 2006 so I knew how bad the situation could get.
We have been in contact with many online ex-Nova student communities, and many students want to continue lessons with their previous teacher. There are also many online ex-Nova teacher communities, and many teachers would like to continue helping their students' language study. The problem both communities face is the language barrier. The student community sites are in Japanese and the teacher community sites are in English. We decided to create a bilingual site to help both teachers and students find each other.
Our site cf,hel www.yasashiieigo.com cf,aur offers a free service to both teachers and students. Teachers can register and complete their profile and students can search for teachers by name, location and previous Nova branch. We hope that through this service we can help ex-Nova teachers and students.
