I share everyone's sadness over the needless killing of whales but feel that, for many, the concern is rather selective. I wonder how many of the people complaining are meat-eaters. The production of beef is one of the most devastating activities for the Earth's environment -- far more so than the culling of whales (documented in numerous books going back 40 years).
So I hope all those who want to save the whales are also interested enough in saving the Earth to give up eating meat and launch a campaign against the meat-eating culture.
