I visited Japan for two weeks last month. It had been over 20 years since I last visited. As expected I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was looking forward to another visit within a few years, but it is extremely unlikely that I will ever step foot in Japan again if I am required to provide fingerprints and a photograph. There are many other beautiful places in this world to visit where I will be treated with respect.

I also visited China and think it interesting that a nation that is moving toward the greatest possible use of video monitoring of its citizens is not considering taking such a demeaning step. As a Canadian, I have not been subjected to fingerprinting and photographing when entering the United States. When/if this becomes a requirement, I will also stop visiting that country.

Every intelligent person knows the "war on terrorism" is a red herring of monstrous proportions. The further governments go in removing basic personal freedoms and rights in the name of "fighting terror," the more undeniable I find the theories that it is all part of an agenda of control over the populace. There are far darker days ahead.
