One of the few perks I enjoy living so far from Hollywood, and everything else associated with "La-La Land," is that I no longer have to endure the sycophantic ramblings of movie critics and the opinions of self-righteous actors. Or so I thought.

In his July 5 article, "True to her 'heart' " (about actress Angelina Jolie), George Hadley-Garcia seems more intent on telling us how many times the "mega-star" of the film "A Mighty Heart" giggled rather than give us details about the director, the story and the message. And calling the star "Hollywood's hottie-cum-humanitarian" (in the sub-headline) makes the film seem like a bargain-basement porn flick.

The reviewer references the philanthropy that this actress and her equally famous companion pursue -- nothing really to do with the movie -- and clues us in to her opinions on everything from American obesity to Islamic extremists. And to think, this mega-star barely graduated from high school!

Hadley-Garcia makes fleeting mention of the film's title character and her husband (Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl). For shame. The actors and actresses in this film did not have to make any sacrifices for their multimillion dollar salaries. Let's not forget the real mighty heart and leave what's-her-name, for the most part, out of it.
