Prime Minister Shinzo Abe may well be starting another period of tremendous enlightenment in Japan through attaining the painting "Annunciation," by Leonardo da Vinci, for the Japanese public to study.
The further one goes back into history and studies innovation (in this case the da Vinci painting) the greater the current civilization progresses forward in creating a fertile and intellectual base for future benefits, not only for Japan but those who will follow in its contemporary Renaissance-style wake.
Right now the world needs such strength of vision as the Renaissance artists had to create, thus giving the public a more hopeful and more tolerant future. One can only commend Abe for securing the loan of such an important painting for the people of Japan.
