If British Prime Minister Tony Blair wants to prevent more London bombings, he needs to come up with some better arguments to condemn Islamic militancy. His claim that Britain confronts an "evil ideology" was both naive and foolish.
This is a prime minister who lied openly to justify British military intervention against Iraq. Under the rules imposed by the postwar Nuremberg and Tokyo tribunals, people who lead their nations into war for blatantly false reasons were supposed to be the ultimate in evil, and to receive the ultimate in punishments.
The evil does not stop there. First, there is the almost criminal disregard in the West, including Britain, for the dreadful casualties being inflicted daily on Iraqi civilians.
