Of course, I understand the difference between the two words. I agree that anyone who goes into another country without appropriate papers is committing an illegal act.
However, there are many kinds of illegal acts, some of which can be understood and possibly even forgiven. Coming to the United States in search of work because one's country of origin cannot provide opportunities is not a serious crime, particularly when that person is hired, works and contributes to society.
