HONG KONG -- In Japan, the Democratic challenger for U.S. president, Sen. John F. Kerry, has so far garnered 88 percent of the Japanese popular vote compared to 11 percent for the incumbent George W. Bush.
Here in Hong Kong, Kerry and his running mate Sen. John Edwards are currently ahead of Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, 87 percent to 12 percent. In Macau, Kerry-Edwards have a smaller lead, 75 to 24 percent for Bush-Cheney.
In the People's Republic of China, Bush-Cheney score 19 percent against 80 percent for Kerry-Edwards. As one would expect, given their support for Taipei, Bush-Cheney are doing slightly better in Taiwan, where they are supported by 25 percent, but Kerry and Edwards are still far in front with 74 percent.
