The Japan Coast Guard is promoting work style reform for its members, at a time when such efforts are being advanced in both the country's public and private sectors.
The JCG established a kaizen (improvement) committee in October last year to review how servicemen work and what problems they face.
"We want to eliminate inconveniences that have been overlooked," said Teruhiro Suzuki, who is in charge of the initiative at the JCG.
