A U.S. military helicopter made an emergency landing in a rice paddy in Ebina, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Saturday morning, according to video footage shown by broadcaster NHK.
No one was injured in the landing, NHK said, citing the local fire department, with the chopper taking off for the U.S. military's Atsugi Air Base around 12:40 p.m. Authorities were continuing to investigate the accident.
It was not immediately clear what was behind the emergency landing, but local media reported that no smoke or fire had been seen from the aircraft.
