Middle and West Japan, covering Kagawa, Tokushima, Okayama and Toyama prefectures, are alarmed with the prevalence of sleeping sickness, which has laid low 900 victims with the past three weeks, while some 1,600 others are sleeping with their life hanging in the balance.
