Japan's welfare ministry said Wednesday it will apply a collective responsibility system to welfare corporation Megumi under a related law over its irregularities that include overcharging.
This will ban service-provider designations for about 100 group homes for people with disabilities that the Tokyo-based firm runs from being renewed.
The ministry has notified the company and local governments concerned with the decision.
